Looks like Mclaren is using there old nose in China this weekend.

Do any of you guys have any ideas as to why this is so. I thought the new nose was a step forward for the car. :?:

The nose/front wing assembly is the most important part of the car, cause it's whatd dictates the way the airflow works around the car...into the diffuser, sidepod, rear wing,etc.

Different circuits need diferent settings for the rear wing downforce, cooling, so changing the nose/front wing assembly is a way to condition the airflow....

It seems williams has copied the toyota fins on the rearwing endplates. :-k
Nobody has still explained what they are for, other than some vague guesses.
Vortex/drag control is the obvious answer, but how, to be exact? Could somebody explain? Hopefully based on facts.
Whatever they do they seem to work because Williams saw it worthwhile to copy them.

The slots pass high pressure air from the inside of the endplate (above the wing) to the wing tip\end plate intersection, this local flow controlreduced the pressure difference and hence reduces the strength of vortex produced.
