Behold the image above from an equilibrium perspective, an efficient enough vacuum in the snorkel should easily counter any CoG deficiency through the corner. Or so I imagine anyway.

Not sure that would be a good design compromise. Do you think it has in-board disc brakes? Can this pic be taken off - it might give FiA ideas

The prototype is clearly pioneering hydraulic-drive, front-wheel at that, which might cloak an accumulator KERS-device,
meaning no conventional brakes whatsoever! Why is Eddie Cheever driving btw?

This reminds me of the famous chicken pick which one of my bosses once designed for the chicken industry. It was basically a truck with a huge vacuum cleaner which was used to collect free ranging chicken. The trick with that device was getting the vacuum right. If it was too low the chickens would get stuck in the hose, if it was too high the chickens were thrown with deadly force against the rear wall of the truck and got killed. I used to laugh to tears when he told the story of that invention. It must have cost a lot of innocent chicken their live.

You utter bastard! We keep chickens in the family...
To be honest, we're pissing ourselves on that one - very visual and funny.

A friend of mine's pappy owns this big ass company in Canada, that sells meat from freezers like a beer store. Each year in the Kitchener-Waterloo Santa Clause parade, they have one of these, and it has a fake arm sticking out of bag.

It's called the Meat Machine.

Actually, whiteblue, can you tell us what the optimum pressure is for this chicken harvester? Outlines of an approximate formula would be good - I'm assuming the pressure will be a function of theweight and size versus the diameter and length of the pipe...

I was never involved with the chicken pick myself. So I have to pass the question on the proper pressure. Thinking it over again I remember that my boss wasn't actually involved in the design in the first place. He bought a company which specialized in all kind of automatic transportation. Airport luggage and mail systems were their main areas of work. When they bought this American company it transpired that he had also aquired the company developing the chicken pick. So when he went to do his due dilligence he got to see this miracle machine. It was a genuinely funny story when he told us the iterations to adjust the pressure.

Hand picked Vacuum chickens should make suck-ulent chicken meat  , making the DDD all the more important. I don't think the FDA should ban them.

Adrian Newey on the DDD:
I don’t think [double diffusers] affected the overtaking. It gave us more downforce and made the cars about a second a lap quicker. That doesn’t change whether the car’s going to overtake or not, there’s no difference in the aerodynamic wake which is what affects the ability of the car behind to overtake.
Adrian Newey
This is coming from one of the teams that were late to implement a proper DDD. I think he has a credible point of view.

There have been varying opinions as to what affects the trailing cars ability to overtake. Here Newey gives us his expert opinion.
So why was the front wing made so big by the OWG?

I think the general idea was that the center-section, affected by the wake, should not be contributing to downforce,
why they needed to widen the whole thing. Looks bloody stupid if you ask me.

Away from the chicken picking, my understanding of the double diffuser debacle was that the technical group ignored Brawns request to define this rather undefined area of the rules giving rise to all the speculation. So it was declared legal last season in the end, but as the plan is to try to reduce the absolute speed then I would have expected them to rule it out in future seasons.

there you say something nice 'plan to reduce speeds'
The FIA is not noticing they need to change the rules completely every 3 years to slow them down, also everything is getting more strict.

Why the hell dont they put a limit on downforce, rorque and horsepower, then development would be alot slower.

It's official... DDD's are gone from 2011

good job by the FIA for changing the rules and not keeping them "stable"
