yeah that's one of the things that impressed me. I feel Vettel has matured a lot this year.

I don't think Vettel has matured, nothing is showing me he is any different than last year. Not to say he is immature, but he has the same demeanor on track as 09.
It's easy to be cool when your car is 1 second faster than anything else on the track.
So yes he is calm when something goes wrong relating to the car. When it comes to things that involve other drivers I don't know if he is as cool.
Both situations with Hamilton in china and Spain, show he can be a little frantic when under pressure.
The redbull i think is a car that encourages confidence and calm, especially when it's at the front. I never knew Webber could drive such a calm and relaxed manner, but then i remembered his win in Brazil which was a very good race for him.
However, when he gets bunched in the middle that's when we see his true character. I think the same happened to Vettel in China. He did well to hold on and get some points, but there were times when he seemed unsettled.
For Sure!!

No. He is not the complete driver yet but he is well on the way. He is a terrific talent.
Williams and proud of it.

I'd love to see him partner Schumi or Alonso actually. They'd teach him some overtaking, defending as well as car development. And set-up skills too

I think Hamilton should be in the list of best overtaker/defender as well.

When is he ever defending?

I only ever seen him attacking.

10 points behind in WDC and only 6 behind in Constructors, speaks for itself

Arguably Hami is one of, if not the best overtaker, and also one of the fastest right now. But from Schumi/lonso he could also learn strategy, as well as car set-up and development. Not taking anyway from Hamilton, but I think Lonso/Schumi would be better in that sense

Everyone is an excellent driver when they have a clear track, but the telling thing is how they react under pressure (like when we see pack racing). Alonso, Schumacher, Hamilton and maybe Kubica, for me are the best drivers, because they have proven themselves to react well to high pressure situations when racing other drivers. Invariably, they come out on top.
Yer.

I can't quite remember when Vettel was last reacting adversely under pressure though... maybe you'd point out a race? (I don't mean to flame you or anything, it's just that I can't remember!! :S)

Vettel is looking a bit slower than the new and improved Webber. I guess webber is back to his best now that his leg has completely healed.
2 poles in a row, 2 times quicker than his teammate by a considerable margin. Vettel is not liking it either, you can see it on his face in the interviews. He likes to win and gets very bitter when he is outclassed.

So it begs the question, is Vettel overrated?
Is he truly the fastest driver, and if he is why is it that his teammate is faster twice in a row, with no mishaps or incidents hamppering Vettel to use an excuse.
For Sure!!

He was disappointing today. Overdriving the car, outbraking himself, not being neat and tidy and generally being too ragged.

Formula One is not a finishing school. You either have it or you don't, and if you don't have something there comes a point where you simply can't change yourself.

For me personally I'm a Vettel fan, but I have to admit Webber has the measure of him at the moment. His domination of Catalunya and this pole position, 4 tenths off Vettel's would serve as a great boost to his confidence.

While I honestly truly do believe that Vettel (personal opinion) is the better, more consistent, and faster, kudos to Webber for these two pole positions. It does, however, sadden me to see Vettel being beat by his teammate. (nothing against Mark, just that I support Seb). It's a long season though. And these are two races only out of 4. But we know what happened the last time Webber was on pole and Vettel 3rd :P

I believe that Vettel will bounce back though. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that any driver (even Ayrton) has ever outqualified their teammates 100-0.

I have a theory, keep in mind it is purely theory and not gospel. Many times last year Webber would lose out to Vettel for pole by very slim margins. Many times ive seen on the qual coverage drivers looking at the data from their previous efforts and i would assume the efforts of their team mates to see where some time can be gained....my theory is that Vettel has used Webbers data to pull out that little bit extra...example...maybe reducing a braking distance by a touch etc

Now todays session demonstrated that Webber didnt show his cards until the very last minute. Vettel is extremely talented but has no where near the experience Webber has.

like i said just a theory.

Also Webber seems to be enjoying the last Redbull update compared to Vettel ala the Rosberg/Schu situation.
