translated: "Lewis Hamilton had failed to comply with the rules of the game at the Spanish GP . When it came down in the closing stages of the race to a duel between the two Mercedes drivers , Hamilton turned on the Überholmodus which releases more power over the MGU -H at the MGU -K.

Hamilton , however, had by the technicians do not have permission to do so. Rosberg stuck to the instructions of the command stand , fighting head to head with blunt weapons. Hamilton had to apologize to his colleagues after the race. Rosberg accepted."

If this is indeed true then it's pretty bad of Hamilton - almost similar to what Vettel did at Malaysia. Saying this, what I don't understand is why there would be an instruction for Hamilton to not use his full engine power when they're supposedly allowed to race? Is this why Mercedes have kept quiet on this issue as they're in-fact not allowing "true" racing and therefore if they came out and criticised Hamilton, then they themselves would also come under scrutiny. Ultimately, if you looked at the fuel usage of the last race, Hamilton saved a lot more fuel than Rosberg, so why couldn't he use that to his advantage at the end of the race and if he did turn up the setting then why couldn't Rosberg just do the same? If not then it's his own fault for using fuel. For Mercedes to say they both have to use a lesser engine mode at the end of the race when they know Rosberg will likely be behind on an alternate strategy (on better tyres) is a little suspect to me, maybe this is why Hamilton ignored it? hmmm...
This has just been confirmed by Niki Lauda to Martin Brundle on the grid walk.

Haven't seen the Davidson/Herbert segment, but here's my amateur take from a more technical side:

It is entirely possible that when Rosberg got onto the brakes he still had too much load on side of the car from driving around the hump, meaning that the weight transfer would have induced yaw forces. You can feel this happening and react to it before any lockup or spin occurs, but a lot of the time it results in some small resonance through the suspension, and the correction can look like a "sawing" motion of the wheel. I didn't see any evidence of a lockup during initial braking, but if he got on the brakes with too much load on one side the car would have been quite unstable, meaning he would have held back on the braking pressure to avoid locking the rears and looping. That kind of thing seriously hurts braking distance, and by the time it was settled (<1 second) he's already travelling too fast to make the corner.

Have yet to see footage of the reversing, which I find strange. I tend to agree that even if he buried the car at the very end of the runoff the yellow would have stayed. Such is the state of safety procedures these days.

I'm surprised by the various reactions to the Hamiltons Spanish race controversy and the Rosberg Monaco debacle. Every persons hero will do anything to win. Friendships go out the window when the chips are down. Drivers are human and have the same flaws that "normal" humans have, it's just that they have so much more to lose. Underhanded tactics are to be expected. We don't have to like or condone them but we shouldn't be surprised.
