This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
Zak pulling rank and representing the team on the podium. Would have been nice for Andrea Stella to get the chance in Italy. But it’s neither here nor there, besides Daniel is representing Italy
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.
@2018 Singapore Grand Prix drivers press conference.
They were very lucky all season but still we have a 13.5 point lead over them. Now do we have anything up our sleeve to improve car performance as Ferrari will bring an upgraded engine. We got to find some tenths to cover up for that upgraded engine.
It happens.... You could argue that if there was no sprint race and Bottas didn't have to change his PU, McLaren would have started the race 4th 5th ...
Also , how lucky was it that both Max and Lewis had slow pit stops? Don't forget Hamilton Passed Norris on the track....
So McLaren Merrit yes but lets not dismiss Ferrari's hard work.

That’s McLaren first time in 9 years to have a boss on the podium and Zac has more than earned that opportunity
He was the one that put the pieces in place & turned the team around, before Andrea even arrived

It's surreal to see people talking about ferrari luck in mclaren thread, after mclaren just managed 1-2 after such a long time.
YEEEESSSSSSS, C'MOOONN, awesome race, holy moly I was so tense until finishing line praying for no technical issue. Great driving from both drivers.
Lando going off track in last turn on safety car restart was smart and also risky I'd say. I was a bit afraid of penalty for gaining an advantage, but he managed to pass Lec later after turn 1 and not on start/finish straight. Great stuff, CHEERS GUYS, LET'S HAVE A BEER AND CELEBRATE
Another interesting fact after today's race is that McLaren is the first team this season to get a 1-2. That's pretty cool.
Also, we have had 5 podiums this season so far. That's the total amount of podiums the team has had from 2014 up to 2020. What's more important is that there are clear tangible improvements this year, being close to pole in 3 occasions so far, and we have never missed Q3 with both cars this season.
I have faith in this team now. I believe we will be in a good position next year, no matter what. We might not be winners from the get go, but I trust the team to build a great car now, even if we have a difficult season. We got a great team of talented people working for the team, they know what they are doing.
Hats off to Zak Brown. To assemble such a structure after years of misery.. I can't even try and guess what exactly was his speech when he was poaching Zeidl, Key, when you are rock bottom... Oh man...
LETS GOOOOOO BOYSSS AND GIRLSSSSS!!!
can't wait to see what this result does for Daniel's confidence... He's been pretty good at all the "traditional" tracks so far and a bunch more to come
Sooooo happy, literally crying happy tears! What an epic race and result for McLaren! Amazing from both drivers esp Dan who stormed off the line and led all race pretty much and never put a foot wrong. Fastest lap at the end too. Those celebration from the drivers and team will be unforgetable. Amazing day!!
What a weekend… Took me a while to compose myself and let my heart rate go down.
Extremely happy for Daniel, this may be the turn around he needed and it’s great timing for it… The way he defended from Max in the first stint was perfect, keeping the necessary gap to avoid a dive from Max… Same for Lando, who kept Lewis behind him until the end of the stint when unluckily the tires couldn’t hold anymore… Daniel is definitely driver of the day, but Lando pulled the move of the day on Leclerc to secure P2 after the last Safety car, which consolidated the 1-2 for the Team.
I also believe that regardless of the finishing position at the end of the season, this season has been spectacular for the team and has provided with more highs than lows and with a 1-2 that will be in the history books.
