Mercedes AMG F1 W06

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

They are keeping it high to still allow for the undercut airflow.

That's a large inlet to the intake manifold. It looks like they are still using some sort of integrated cooling within the rear of the chassis for the charge air. It is hard to tell how the intake air gets to the compressor. Does it go between or around the large charge intake?

Is there anything new on that front wing or on the bat wing under the nose? The rear wing has a huge amount of inward curvature to it compared to most teams? Also, is there a new paint job since testing - more black?

Why does a radiator inlet/exit looks like it is passing through the engine exhaust?

It's also pushed forward towards the wider part of the car up front.

Very different positioning of components compared to redbull..

Yeah, the team stated they were using it somewhere I read. The way that the cover is shaped, I bet it is some sort of screw, log type system rather than the linear axially moving kind.

The paint shop should feel ashamed... ASHAMED I tell you!

Even though it would add weight, I hope that the team will waste the few grams worth of paint to make the vanes and winglets on the FW a bit more interesting.

Looks as if the rear part of the nose cone curves similar to the contours of a spoon
