Shame that all the action was either before the race or in the pits, but a great race by Berstappen, Sainz and Norris.

Rotten luck for poor old Bottas. Just like the old saying, if he didn’t have bad luck....
A real rotten race for Mercedes, but in Baku in 2 weeks they'll be odds on to take podiums - perhaps it is nice that circuits like Monaco are on the calendar as they shake things up nicely in a year where really it is still arguable which is the best car on the grid overall.
With the rear wing saga in full swing, I'd have thought Baku was a good place for Max and Red Bull to take more points out of Hamilton and Mercedes.

We need Monaco on the calendar for reasons as what it did to the championship today. It throws a wrench in things and makes things interesting. I get it that the race is not full of action but I always thoroughly enjoy qualifying. And the weekend is never short of drama

There's a word that sums up everything that's happened in the last few weeks. It's such a powerful and relatable word, the great philosopher Fernando Alonso said it best.

Or maybe completely remove aero from the cars so they can overtake.
I started a thread about the merits of making F1 into 1000hp Formula Fords in the technical section. :)

Formula Ford's regulations to prohibit aerofoils and downforce-generating surfaces seem to work quite effectively, and most races have excellent slipstreaming battles.

The consensus was they would be at least 20 seconds per lap slower or so, IIRC.

For Charles? That's a bit mean. The mods have been deleting posts for trolling so you are not gonna get away with this one! Hahaha.

Totally. I mean although it wasn’t an interesting race in general and didn’t work out for Leclerc, it was superb to see the red cars up there. And there definitely should be different challenges for the teams and drivers across the season. I wouldn’t want more than one Monaco a season though just in terms of having some on track action. There must have been less than five pure, on track overtakes?

this is what we needed. Now pressure will be ham and merc. bottas can spoil the party. mercedes had too much luck but looks like racing gods do need some fun in lockdown era. if perez picks it up a bit and bottas irritates lewis a bit then In many years for first time Toto and lewis will feel what real pressure feels like.
Game on :)

Something to remember, is that Lewis finished 7th in Monaco 2017 as well and we all know how that season ended!

Well that was as dull a F1 race as we have seen for some time. Even Brundle called it as such and he's usually effusive about Monaco being special.

Well done to Max taking the maximum advantage presented to him. Well done to Sainz giving the tifosi something to cheer about after the disappointment of Charles not starting. Brilliant by Norris to get a podium in the McLaren. Perez did his team proud after starting 9th on the grid. Aston Martin did a great job leap frogging Seb ahead of Gasly and Hamilton. Gasly did a solid job today. Hamilton had one of his rare off days, sweetened only a tiny bit by getting the fastest lap and a new lap record.
Well, to me all the overtakes on 1 mile straights are boring as well. Even if no particular overtaking took place today, atleast Monaco enabled more interesting development in overall standings and actually punishing Lewis for his bad performance yesterday, and putting Max back into the fight.
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

Bottas is getting so much misfortune, it is not even funny anymore. Even when he manages to keep himself competitive, something breaks or his team screws him over...
