McLaren MCL38

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Yes i agree, that would be my quess also, maybe even the upper curvature adding another
If this works it honestly should be quit an update, and then im sure there will be a matching floor coming up next

ah, is just tape to cover.

Huge change in the endplate area much more attention to detail, looks like from my armchair, all in on outwash and creating a strong vortice through the cutouts

It is interesting not only how strongly the ends of the flaps are moved to the sides, but also that on the outer side of all planes it is visible that the profile is reduced in the longitudinal plane of the front wing. As if an additional opportunity for creating vortices.

Later in the season the floor will definitely be renewed. Today I was just wondering what the team will prepare for Silverstone, and I saw that the front of Oscar's car was covered in flowvis paint. I thought, well, okay, they are doing tests. And after practice I go to the forum and see that the team has brought updates.

The team never ceases to amaze.

Everyone focusing on front shots when the most noticeable change is from the side. New wing has couple of very pointed ends and is not 100% vertical.

Old one had pretty straight vertical edge.

looks like upper wishbone front arm is mounted higher => more anti-dive and probably some downwash benefits

A very complex form. You can't just copy something like that. Thank you!

So I assume that was a new floor? Or at least floor fences but for what ever reason it was published on the list of official upgrades?
Just a fan's point of view

It's an angle which we haven't seen before that emphasizes the shapes, but their fences have looked like that for a while.
