Davidson have shown why Vettel is SOOO dominant in the last sector. He gain a lot of times at the turn before the pit entry with his late apex

the weather will still play a factor in the race as the cold will force additional stops

Button was 1.9 seconds of Rosberg and you think Hamilton would've stuck that McLaren into 3rd?
I bet you he wouldn't, and 3 years of Hamilton/Button tells us that.

In addition to that, somewhere they said it might rain again at 6 pm local time - right at the middle of the race.

All the drivers take late apexes there, unless he can comparitvely show that Hamilton, Alonso and others are not taking a late apex then the much simpler answer to why Vettel is so much quicker is because he drives a RB.

If the race is dry and cold at the start like in q3, the drivers just outside the top 10 will have a massive tyre advantage after ~lap 5 if they start on mediums (then finish with a 'splash and dash' on the supersofts when their lighter cars won't wreck them as fast). They could do two stops with pace in hand whilst the top qualifiers would have to eke it out or take an extra stop.

In other words, Hulk/Sutil for the podium...

No, Webber took an early apex, and he was stuck in the rain, while Vettel choose the late apex where the track was dry.

They were tbh.

Davidsons description maybe shows why he was still ahead of Webber, but not where he found over half a second on third place and over a second on all the other teams.

Vettel also won a race in monza some times ago, i wonder if some people believe that newey designed every car with a red bull on its engine cover. He also beats Webber for ages now. So, give him a little respect. Where there is a dominator, there are haters.

Webber is not Hamilton or Alonso though, that accounts for the difference only between Webber and Vettel...

Nice view of tyres after Qualifying. Will be interesting to see the influence on the length of the 1st stint in the race.
