Apparently he told some Journos a few Days after Australia that his Chest hurts a bit. Let's hope it heals until China.

Oh and for the People speculation about Alonso leaving Mclaren, there is a dedicated Thread for that.

Not at Alonso. He didn't make the decision.

Different medical procedures back then and a huge amount of focus on sports injuries resulting for heavy impacts today.

No guarantee either of them (or Coulthard after his helicopter crash) would have been allowed to race if their incidents had happened today.

yeah, on autosports they are talking bout this for some month now.

McLaren merchandise is sooo ugly this year anyway.

I found the language in that statement a bit strange "insufficient resolution of the signs to allow him to race"...

I can guess at what signs they are referring to, but it is very strange way of wording it....so non-specific as to almost be begging for conspiracy theorists to get hold of it...
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

I wasn't questioning what was wrong with him.... I was commenting on the wording of the statement. Why not say that he has a hairline fracture? The statement was strangely vague is all I'm saying...

You still think that with a fracture rib the doctors or anybody from FIA is playing a political game? A bit disrespectful to the doctor's work.

I don't know if you ever crashed something really hard, but when you do you have loads and loads of adrenaline running through your body. And that can let you do stuff you wouldn't do without adrenaline. He got 46G on his body with that crash.. So It really isn't a surprise that they won't let him drive.

Adrenaline has a half-life of 2 minutes, thus its effects are gone after a few minutes. Yet after the accident (still during the race) I saw him conducting normal walking interviews with the journos. And that was around 20min after the accident. I find it strange because the adrenaline explanations simply can't account for the lack of pain/discomfort he displayed there.

But probably this is just a precaution and he is indeed theoretically apt to race but no doctor wants to sign the release without being 100% sure

He better stay out - the car is not a miracle anyway. Let SV race.
Broken rib takes about 4 weeks to recover fully, but that's a ballpark figure and your mileage may vary.
