McLaren chief Andreas Seidl says the team will be testing some aero updates in StyrianGP Friday practice. Reckons the team are in a tight fight with Racing Point, Renault and Ferrari in terms of performance right now #F1

Ah so it is new. Nice to see a floor tweak as well. More substantial than expected.

Didn't they run those engine cover flaps last season as well??

But damn that tire squirt slot is huge :D

they did, they run them to aid heat extraction
and actually looking at this from @LuisFeF1, the hotair outlet has increased also, its now angled upwoards towards the center where it meats the exhaust

I'm guessing this is testing for Hungary. They took the engine cover design to hot tracks like Hungary & Singapore last few years.

Yes it is testing but today it was very necessary. Tomorrow and sunday will be cooler.

Interesting that Mclaren came up with a very similar solution to managing the rear tire squirt as Ferrari.

i asked Ivan, its the winter test spec bargeboard, i thought it was updated also, so maybe in silverstone we will se an update there
