The race today will go ahead, because the forecast got better with less rain as expected.
Even if it's worse than yesterday's Q, the race will happen, even if for two laps, behind a safety car ; and then whatever is the applicable fraction of the points will be awarded to the drivers who wont be allowed to overtake behind the safety car anyway.
Behind the scenes, F1 will ensure race control rules it this way, because that will ensure Verstappen scores 0 and Norris eats further into the lead. They are, ultimately, like 2021, going for 'entertainment'. Fundamentally 'it's a business', the money needs to keep coming in.
It's hard to swallow, but it's the truth.
