They're quite tight indeed, but we also have to account for the fact that they are longer than most (as they are further forward).
They also end earlier and more steeply to draw air to the floor, so net net they're pretty darn tight and good.

What is that in that housing under the nose in the last image? An outlet, or some sort of ride height sensor? Sorry if I've missed discussion of it before.
