HRT F111 Cosworth

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

The DRS is flattering this year's car though.
Though taking into consideration the tyres and the diffusers and the minimum weight, the car isn't so bad.

I would imagine that TATA would have a contract with HRT for the rest of the year.

More Red Bull stickers on another F1 car though? This is just turning into a giant money machine to cover Red Bull's overspen--sorry, budget.

Red Bull have a lot of personal sponsorship deals in motorsport, and do not plaster their logo over the cars/bikes. Look at Honda in MotoGP. There are no decals on the bikes, but Dovi and Dani (or is it Casey?) wear Red Bull caps

they do product placement in motorsport as well so no stickers or such just the guy having a redbull drink bottle..Gerhard Berger one example...I have seen this in lower classes as well when we were made to drink RedBull all day long or at least hold the can ...I wonder how it affected the drivers...

Maybe it's some sort of scary mind control fluid.

I think Hispania mentioned that they haven't spent that money on the EBD as they aren't sure of the rules....

Seems like allot of HRT fans are unhappy with all the changes at the team, I personally feel cautious about the new owners. Although if we look at it carefully maybe it is the right thing for them to do, HRT have been in F1 for a season and a half and up till now they have only managed to get only one Spanish sponsor(Panda)on the car. When we look at other teams like Virgin who managed to get loads more,I think its a bit strange or there might be something more to it? Even if there are no Spanish sponsors why are there no/ very little foreign ones. Doesn't matter if the team is last, HRT have publicity space on their car but instead of selling it it shows place holders , Surely if no one wants to buy it they can sell the space cheaper then just letting it go to waste.

What are we expecting for the F112, do we expect KERS to be integrated alongside the Williams 2010 gearbox?

Would be foolish to go another year without KERS but it could hurt that the other teams have 1 and 2 years head start on them and Team Lotus and have a Red Bulls to rely on and Virgin have Mclaren to help them out and the Williams KERS this year hasn't actually proved to be a rival to the others. I would drop a good penny to get the final spec 2011 Gearbox though if I was Them. Drop this Dallara Tub and go full out Geoff Willis, the best engineer out of Symounds and Gascoyne.

Id expect there to be a Cosworth or Toyota power plant in the car for 2012. As i think they will be using the Magnetti Maranelli system used on the Renault cars at present. Gearbox will be Williams current one, and if Williams are smart they will give Hispania their 2012 gearbox as this gives them more data on them. As for their tub, this will be the first Geoff Willis designed one, the F111 isnt a Dallara tub, albeit a bases upon a Dallara tub. It will be designed using the Mercedes #2 tunnel, that hasnt been updated since 2009 but is more up to date than what they have been able to use and also more up to date than what Virgin and Team Lotus have been using the past couple of years. Both of those teams will be using a more up to date tunnel for their 2012 cars.

Id expect the F112 to be a much better car, they will have alot more time this year, and that could just be what they need to get into the mix. However they need a good testing program with the 2012 car and get at least 4000km on the clock, as well as use the potential new in season testing rules to their advantage. The more miles they get on the clock, the better they can become.

Hispania also need to keep ahold of a quality driver, if they keep Liuzzi they can extract the best from the car, and if they can get a good fast young guy as well that can keep the likes of Liuzzi on his toes, you will have a good team that can challange the other 2 teams that want to get into that tail end of the midfield.
