Ferrari F138

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

It looked better without the UPS logo.

OK, we found the inlet. Where is its exit?

One of the biggest exits is cockpit itself. So if it is for driver cooling and some electronics, all the air that is collected by inlet could escape trough cockpit. I am pretty sure. I am no aero expert but make sense to me.

Water get's in the cockpit..... just like it would without a duct?

I suppose they could have a drain, but surely there would be an order of magnitude more water coming in with the duct than without. At the speeds they are going, rain is going over the cockpit, not in the cockpit. On the other hand, rain is being directed into that hole.

With regards to the driver cooling vent....and from the earlier post stating that Ferrari's exhaust is sitting farther back into the side pods....are they possibly not trying a version of the "acer ducts" or specefically trying the version of the concept they emlpoyed on the "acer ducts".......Just a thought

Everytime marketing comes to give us a presentation i always ask "Why do we spend so much money on NASCAR and not advertise in F1? We dont need more brand recognition in the US. We need it in Europe." Their reply is always "F1 is too expensive to advertise in."

Looks like things have changed...significantly. I hope I can get models of this car at the end of the year. It will sit on my desk next to my package car and other F1 toys in my office.

I hope this logo gets applied to their gear as well!

Could it be they are testing two different positions and angles exhausts on each side?
Because the sensors are in different places on each side on more backwards and the other one more forward

Could they be testing different exhaust soultions at the same time? I ask because the sensor rigs on either side seem to be different.

EDIT: Redragon beat me to it :)

Is it me or not? I think Ferrari have new sensor like the others. Usually they have lot of pipes going from the sensor, but it looks like this one new is completely digital and have wires instead of pipes.

EDIT:
For example compare these two. The first one is from Jerez, second one from Barcelona
