Autosport:
Zak Brown:
The McLaren Formula 1 team has a bigger budget for 2017 despite the continuing lack of a title sponsor, executive director Zak Brown revealed at the launch of the MCL32.
He is targeting 2018 to announce a new commercial partner.
"I've been focusing on restructuring our commercial department and to get some good buzz back in this place, which I think we are accomplishing.
Not all doom and gloom :D :D :D

Come on Coca Cola... how many more hints do you need? Time to be the title sponsor of McLaren Honda.

Not a fan of the orange tint they used. Would have liked a deeper orange. More like the bike on the last page. Also not a fan of the white lettering on Orange. Should have used black on orange and white on black.

IMHO last years was much nicer.

But even when it looks exactly like that, I can live with it. It at least looks aggressive, much better than past year black.

Anycase to me the car launch is only the real season start after a long winter, can´t wait to see the cars on track!!

All liveries have symbolic value, they're the outward expression of the car and the company that produced it. You cannot see the work that's gone into the engine from the outside (when the car is standing still that is), but you CAN see what it's wrapped in; the paint job is the physical embodiment of the standards and ideas of the rest of the team behind the car, and a gauge of the levels of expertise within the company.

To me this year's livery is a bit of a miss. I'm happy to see orange and understand what they're trying to do with the swooshing tick motif, but it hasn't really worked out. The back bumps over the car's natural shape and the lines sort of tail off as if they don't really know where it's going, as if it was made on a 2D render and then just painted on.

It doesn't speak of detail to me and doesn't feel like it harmonises with the car's designed curves, which overall isn't very confidence inspiring impression.

Having said that maybe it will grow on me. As everyone has said, "when it goes fast it will be sexy".

What u posted suits for every specific type of a vehicle - u surely noticed that certain patterns suit well on motorcycles, others on cars and so on. And i seriously dont see what have they done wrong on their car, it looks stunning.
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

i think it is more deep, if you see this picture, during the launch they used colored light, after atleast here, they used white and that makes the orange a lot more nice, but we will have to wait until daylight hits it

For example only: Same color combination, similar cars, CONCEIVED differently.... It's about being creative.

The more I see the livery the more I like it. Especially the back portion. Of course, there are many parts that could have been done in a way more neat way but it is what it is and looks aggressive.

I feel that there's been quite a lot of excuses made on behalf of Honda. One the positive side McLaren have made their bed and are committed to laying in it long term; compared to Red Bull's embarrassment on how they reacted to the Renault unit, that's refreshing. Let's not forget however that Honda had an extra year to develop their PU while at the same time having access to all of the details and data from the Mercedes unit on the back of the McLaren in 2014 and they still delivered a dog.

It might also help to Mclaren commitment that Honda is the one adding the most to the budget, without big sponsor to cover that money Mclaren will not dare to do a Redbull cocky one. I just hope Honda has this year a decent engine and see if Mclaren is in top 3 chasis as they have stated on the past two years. If Mclaren is not on top 3 chasis with Honda supplying a good engine, we will see is Honda moving on from Mclaren and start to supply other team and stop the exclusivity with Mclaren, turning the table and the pressure over Woking

Mercedes had the best lead time with brawn pushing engine development at an early stage. Mercedes have then stayed on top; however Honda have in my opinion carried made a fantastic achievement from getting there engine which was down right terrible initially to were it was by the end of last season. If they keep this rate of progress this year has the makings of one of the best seasons with Renault and Ferrari being closer to Mercedes than before.

I wouldn't bet on Mclaren giving Honda that much information about Mercedes PU in 2014 - Mercedes knew Mclaren would switch PUs for 2015, and kept all but really, really necessary data away from them. They were pretty much the slowest team with Mercedes PU that year, to what extend was that the result of lack of engine data, or was it becasuse of bad work on the chasis side, is debatable.
