Kimi Raikkonen has converted a brilliantly working 2-stop strategy to a race wing for Lotus, immediately confirming the long run pace of the E21. Fernando Alonso finished in second place, 10 seconds behind while Sebastian Vettel completes the podium in third.
Ferrari is really fast and I'm glad that is, someone has to stop those bulls. But I can't figure out what is wrong with merc, I mean they seemed very fast and oohh we must not forget the infamous fric system ... bs! the lack of df is obvious. the start was disaster, falling behind a second lap by lap. I'm also glad about the lotus, looks really good in the right hands

Need to take the conditions into account. It's also the same for all drivers. Don't forget Sutil was only that far up the grid due to everyone else running the super softs early in the race. It was their call to pit with 9 laps to go - they could have tried to stretch the mediums for another few laps and then maybe it would have worked out for them.

Very true. On Fri SS were lasting for 3 to 4 times as long as they are today. Though hard to say if they were being pushed as hard as in the race.
Mercedes race pace was actually pretty good, and they looked after their tyres better than everyone except Ferrari and Lotus. Poor pace on the opening lap or two though, and their setup seemed to make them easy to pass. Poor strategy choice though in trying to go for the 2 stopper but failing, probably still would have been 5th so no harm done but would have been closer to the leading pack.
Bodes well for Hamilton, hopefully he should be able to mix it with the leaders more often than not and may even steal the odd win as long as they can keep developing the car.
Well done Kimi...superb race but let's see if Lotus can repeat throughout the year. Lotus looking good for the first race.
Alonso superb in second in clearly the dominant car on the track, the Ferraris are looking faaaast
Well done Seb for third....tyres getting wasted early not helping and RB not looking as good in race pace as in qualifying so for a third..well done. Sometimes up to a second slower that the Feraris must be a worry for them.
Did SV ever get telemetry back during the race. Perhaps without it he needed to be more conservative?
Generally I don't care about what people say. I have to be clear with myself. When everything goes well, people celebrate you, when you make mistakes people criticize you.
