I can see two holes... What do you think they are doing?otbsti wrote:gilgen wrote:In the second photo, ignore the hole. Look at the amount of narrowing caused by the pylons!
That was noteworthy, but I'm talking about the interior of the nose cone and the obvious electrical connection running to something inside. Wonder if Ferrari truly went after this idea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJybR-uW ... e=youtu.be
Thank you for that comparison. You are not insane just in the wrong place.edumaxine wrote:Because someone asked bout last year. Or am I getting insane?adam2003 wrote:Why you posting stuff about f2012 last years car?edumaxine wrote:Laptimes

That is just the camera cable. The other idea mentioned by you is fanciful!otbsti wrote:gilgen wrote:In the second photo, ignore the hole. Look at the amount of narrowing caused by the pylons!

All noses have to be wired for cameras, whether or not a camera is fitted. We do not know if cameras were installed or not. If they aren't, then there has to be ballast in the pods.otbsti wrote:Camera connection could make sense, but 2 things come to mind: 1. They aren't running any cameras in there during testing. They are dummy pods for aero purposes I thought. 2. Why would it be a cable that has to be un-plugged carefully by a mechanic ? Everyone else has cameras on the nose cone, but they seem to be a quick connect or something similar as they certainly don't carefully unplug and plug them back in during a nose change during a race (for example).
Just throwing it out there... I'm most likely wrong, but I thought it was an interesting set of photos.
Thanks Matt & Mark for all your great photography and your contributions to these threads...Love your work!Matt Somers wrote:Some shots of the nose duct Mark got:
