I got one foot in the MotoGP door, you know that place where they haven´t forgotten what it means to go racing on weekends.
´14 is a bit of a do or die season for me in terms of my future F1 watching.

Doubling the points of the last race would certainly leave the outcome of the championship open for a bit longer, even if the season is being dominated by one driver. It is artificial, but it will keep the audience excited for longer whilst the money keeps flowing.
But it is double sided, it takes away from the races before that as they make less sense. Especially if it's one week double weekend.
And it will not stop "true" domination, like 92, 2002/04, this year.

I have my own two cents to offer as far as ideas are concerned, but I'd like to hear some suggestions before I start shooting my mouth off.
Already covered earlier in he thread : https://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/ ... 14-onwards

I know this is a stupid conspiracy theory but what if CIC (Bernie) is trying to sell F1 and needs to get the price down?
Disgruntling the fans would be one way to do it, no?

I was thinking about the reliability aspect of this new rule. Usually at the last few races the engines being used are getting close to the end of life. Next year the reliability is a big issue for the teams, so I'm curious how they're going to manage the parts. You don't want tired engines or partly demagnetized rotors at the race that provides double the points.

Maybe we'll see an unusual amount of DNFs at Interlagos. ](*,)

Here's another idea;

Skip qualifying at the last race and form the grid in reverse order from the point standings, that should spice things up a bit?

No. There should be a contest among the fans (via sms or facebook likes) and drivers will get additional points based on results.

THERE"S

JUST

NO

NEED

TO

SPICE

THINGS

UP!!!

Why not introduce a formula for the points awarded at the last race?

Points for the win at the last race = MAX(difference in points between the first and second driver before the last race plus one point; 25points)

Just kidding...
Dear FIA, if you read this, please pm me for a redesign of the Technical Regulations to avoid finger nose shapes for 2016! :-)

I've always been a fan of the old running start at Le Mans, how about xpanding on this and let the drivers dash from
50 meters behind the grid to give the slower qualifiers a break and the spectators would just love it?

Or have everyone ride around on a unicorn for the last race.

It's silly, a knee jerk reaction to RB's domination meaning the last few races have no impact on the WCC or WDC tables. They want to recreate 2007, 8, 9, 10 - not just at the top but have a few more battles lower down.

IMHO If they want to keep things alive to the end of the season the then the old system of only counting the best races would be a good way of doing it. Lets say the best 12 results?
