I read there would be 50km/h gust/winds this weekend.

I wonder if the track walls and straights will funnel wind up and down them drastically?

I wouldn't assume much of a venturi-principle at work based on trackwalls; close-by city buildings maybe, but they seem to far away imho. But as the track is seaside, gusts should be perfectly possible.
Then again, I'm no aerodynamicist nor weatherman

Isn't that a first ? Hitting parts-penalties at the 2nd race ?
Sad .. would have loved to see Lec directly battling the RB(s).

probably means another penalty later in the year as well right? Does he have both CEs gone from the pool already?

As far as I recall the second one from the race was toast, and maybe they can salvage the original (1st) one. Maybe they still can, but do need more time. If both are dead, then yeah .. most likely more penalties will follow later in the year yes.

Don't think it's confirmed that the first one is lost - might be under repair/evaluation/don't want to yet take the risk etc. The second is unrecoverable according to reports

But they have decided to take the penalty this weekend.. that doesn't necessarily mean they have lost the 1st unit at all though - they might be seeing Jeddah as a good opportunity for them to take it with high ability to overtake thanks to their excellent straight-line speed like RB did at spa, Monza

I think that the first one was changed as a precaution because it showed some anomaly and caused a discharge of the battery the night before the race. It then was sent to the factory for further checks. Might mean that it was/is salvageable and thus still in the pool.

Why wouldn't they use it here?
