Don't the teams return a set of tyres half way through FP1? Why are the Skysports commentators saying that Verstappen ran only one set of tyres all the way through.

no, that rule was abolished years ago (when practice was shortened to 60 minutes, as far as I remember). He used two sets of Softs

Because they don’t really look very well. Max used 2 sets of soft, went out early each time, but the second set on his hotlap he had to abort due to a VSC so his now hotlap was on tires that already did a heat cycle. They gave up in sector 3.

Car seemed still hard to drive but at least also on the pace. For what it’s worth.

That makes sense.
Thank you.

Ahh Charles :(

I feel he's over driving the car. What a miserable season after Monaco for him :|

Still very early days this weekend and could all change ... BUT it's interesting that McLaren aren't immediately topping the timesheets like they have done in the past few races, now that the FIA are starting to clamp down on flexi wings.

Yeah that’ll have absolutely no correlation to events whatsoever. Eg it’s NOT interesting

Leclerc cannot keep doing this. Crashing in practice is unforgivable, especially when they need to collect all data they possibly can…

Sky sports ads infuriate me. So you'll charge me a ridiculous amount per month and still show ads in practice. It's basically double dipping, either have it free to watch with ads or what we have now with no ads. The problem is no competition which lets them get away with it. Not to mention the need to block the whole feed while Martin is talking about nothing at the side of the track meaning I have to use the multi screen on my phone.

Rant over sorry...

interesting long runs, Ham on the softs is slower than everyone (13 laps old now) but he's doing 1.24.6's lap after lap while others drop off on the medium and hards so far, Max doing consistent 1.24's on the mediums (15 laps old)

Verstappen will win this easily. The RB is very quick in S1 on the long runs, which they were hiding on the hotlaps.

I wonder if he will ever grow out of this constant over-driving that leads to crashes, this has been going on for a long time now, looks to be a trait of his...

Turn 4 so far in two practice sessions:
  • Piastri floor damage
  • LeChuck dropped it
  • Zhou dropped it

Think they should consider reprofiling that corner.
