Yeah...he was keeping consistent lap times, then all of a sudden, he was 17 seconds slower...it very well could have been a slow deterioration on the final lap, and it could have just been due to the wrong tire in the wet...but it was like he just stopped! How do you go from doing good to slowest guy in a few meters?

And let the conspiracy theories begin...

Come on people, get a grip! Hamilton deserved the WDC anyway, after what happened at Spa.

both Glock and Trulli were on prime tyres on the last lap and both did 1.44.7+ on last lap...

Rain did it... no conspiracy..

Great result for Hamilton, so pleased for him and his family... Sorry for Massa!! =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

My sincere congratulations to Lewis Hamilton, who earned the most respectable trophy in racing from his racing skills! A true world champion. He was robbed points from the FIA, had a whole contry against him plus all the racists of the world, had to cope with Trulli solding his ass to Massa, and had to survive to an aggressive (as usual) Vettel, yet he managed to keep his head cool even in the most horrible moment when he was virtually losing the championship in the last lap. CONGRATULATIONS! =D>

Driver of the race: Vettel IMO. Torro Rosso will be crying now they lost such a talent. All the better for Red Bull.

I like Trulli very much but for the first time in my life I feel he's surrounded by shame. The declaration at the post qualifying press conference crushed all the respect I had for him, and I'll avoid to make remarks of his "move" on Bourdais (which hadn't been penalised btw). Today he was like a replica of schuey for me. [-X

Well, time to say goodbye to grooved tyres =P~ and welcome back to slicks... Err... It's also time to welcome reduced rear wing  sorry I'm feeling bad...

BEST season finish ever

BTW , does anybody have the last 5 lap times for each one driver on dry tyres :?:
It would be very interesting to compare them

Someone explain to me WHY the rules need to be changed in F1?

Great race, great season, back to back championships determined by 1 point, and much more overtaking than anyone seems to give credit to...

But lets shake the barrel next year, and see if we can increase the spread by a few seconds... Apparently having 1 second be the difference from P1 to P20 is making someone unhappy.

And lets hope that the medal system is NOT implemented next year. Maybe a tweak to the points system, but points are the best way forward in my view.

Great season, and I appreciate all of the conversations on this board all season long.

Congrats to Hamilton on the WDC, and congrats to Ferrari on the WCC.

Next up... Winter testing!

See you there!

Whether it was intentional by Glock, whether he messed up, or whether it was simply track conditions and unavoidable, the long and the short of it is, the championship was decided less on the talent of Hamilton (he WAS passed by Vettel moments earlier, after all) and was decided more by a third party in Timo Glock, either through poor conditions, ineptitude, or conspiracy. That is what fans will dislike about how the WDC was decided.

The Medal system would have been so much better... I would have loved to see HAmilton racing for the win, instead we had to watch if he was gonna lose 5th place... what kind of championship battle is that. And if we had the medal system they wouldnt have made that absurd decision in SPA.

LEWIS HAMILTON YOUNGEST WDC EVER!!!!!! THIS WAS THE ONLY JUST RESULT. HAMILTON HAS BEEN CHAMPION SINCE HE WON SPA & CHINA!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Simple. Lewis raced terribly until the last couple laps. By no means did he drive as hard as he could have, he merely rested on his laurels, not taking risks, just trying to maintain.

The guy who went on to win the WDC essentially half-assed the better part of the race. Only when he was about to lose did he get it in gear and actually start pushing like he can.

If this were based strictly upon wins, Felipe would have won, as a result of driving a solid, consistently fast race.

So would I rather see a type of racing where the drivers are racing their very hardest, going for it all the way, every day?

Yes. And you should, too.

My thoughts exactly!
