Wow!! Does the G27's RPM LEDs go in groups? Like the real F1 wheels? Or is it just, "hey, I'm on now, shift up"

It has a really nice two by two function i think, one from the left and one from the right.

Wow, the ACT Labs Force RS, a classic immortal.

From this great review from back in Aug, 2009...
http://www.simhq.com/_technology2/technology_153b.html
Atop the wheel hub is a streamlined plastic fairing containing a 10 LED array, with 5 pairs of lights that illuminate in an advancing string from green to amber to red, indicating relative rpm and arrival at the desired shift point on the power curve. The LED array emulates the way modern Formula 1 cars display relative rpm and shift points to their drivers, and is a glitzy addition to the G27. In order for them to work, the racing sim in use has to support their operation. Logitech created a software developer kit (SDK) for simulation development teams, and titles are now appearing that support this G27 feature. The G27 comes bundled with a version of rFactor that supports LED operation, SimBin has already included support for the rpm/shift LED in the Steam versions of Race ‘07 and GTR Evo, and other upcoming racing titles should also support it. The rpm/shift LED may be of particular value to people who prefer to drive in other than the cockpit view.
One thing I absolutely detest is the crap that AA can eliminate.
I hate jaggies.

You know, I've been ranting on about expensive wheels. Sure, they can help, but a good driver can be just as effective with a much less expensive wheel. As long as the action is smooth and linear, you can be as quick as anyone. For anyone who is reading this and may like to try this sim racing stuff but may be a bit intimidated by the cost of a wheel, don't......

Don't let it stop you from what might be a real fun form of entertainment. A lot of us sim racers are hooked deeper than heroin addicts, and it all started with a simple, and most probably, cheap setup.

If anyone is interested and feel they need to talk some things out, feel free to PM me and although I'm not a great racer (alien), I have a lot of experience, and I am very willing to offer what I know and have.
Racing should be decided on the track, not the court room.

I was just thinking "Yeah that would be great!", then I thought "I be there is no cross platform racing."

So who bought this for the PC vs. PS3 vs. Xbox360?

So after playing for a bit with all aids off here are my observations.
1. Driving is easy, even on the hardest settings.
2. The computer cars are better than those in Race/GTR, the driving model is simpler tho.
3. The tracks do look good (with AA enabled).
4. Cars turn too much on a dime, maybe this is correct but it seems too amplified.
5. Cars traverse gravel and navigate on gravel to easily when off road.(Good/Bad)
6. For some reason the steering feels a bit disconnected for me, but I cant put my finger on why. (I'm thinking the grip, maybe)

All in all fun, but not quite as challenging as I had hoped coming from IRacing.

I'm buying it for my PS3 since the xbox360 can't handle my Logitech driving force GT :(

I am hoping the PS3 version to work the same as the PC version, which so far it sounds like it is at least decent with a wheel. I don't think my 2.5 yr old PC can handle this...

And considering that a PS3 is roughly the cost of a higher end video card, not a bad way to go for gaming.

PS3 is a good platfrom/console.

I own both, luckily, and I have to say that the supposed superiority of the PS3 is not evident on my 50 inch HD plasma(720p admittedly).
So the PS3 sits and plays BlueRays while the Xbox does the gaming.

The reason? Sony cannot hold a candle to Microsoft for online gaming. And I get far more value playing games online than I ever do playing them on my lonesome.

I can be near certain that with F1 2010 the matchmaking on Xbox, as well as the online gameplay will be a better experience. That seals the deal... along with the Halo games

It must be said I pay £37.99 for the priviledge of playing online, whereas PS3 oweners dont. In the end I feel its worth the premium.

I already have a PS3, so I guess I have 2 platform to choose from. I was going to buy a driving seat setup for playing in front of the TV with my wheel when GT5 comes out, so it wouldn't be too bad to do it for F1 2010. The only thing I am somewhat worry about, in terms of the same game on different platform, was that in the past when EA's F1C was on PS2, the PC version was "full feature", with setup in the garage and stuff, but my friend's PS2 version only has sliders to adjust more of less downforce/top speed/oversteer...etc. Essentially much dumb down compare to the PC version...

That's my experience too maniac, that console games don't offer the same volume of adjustments.

But I constructed my own racing rig, from a scrounged Acura seat and some lumber I picked up at a construction site. It ain't fancy, or even light. In fact it's much more than "robust" when you consider that all connections are by large screws and a lot of industrial glue. The Mark I squeaked too much, wood rubbing on wood, but that's been definitely fixed. Sharp observers may notice the side panels for the pedals are perforated, that is to allow easy adjustment of pedals and wheel. And it's built in two parts, with a couple of simple latches to hold them together. That makes it easy to move around (old office chair wheels under the seat portion) because I do have to be able to tuck it out of the way when not used. Definitely not fancy, but the ergonomics are perfect, I can race hours without distress.

I had to replace the panel where the wheel connects because, truth, I broke it right in half

I just played it and it's sooo disappointing.
Totally unrealistic, no feel of the car, seems impossible to spin out.
Even bad graphics and I have a really good top end computer.

I was looking forward to playing it after I've just finished my SC Trials and now the holidays have started.

Such a disappointment!
