I have taken the data from the site of the FIA and then I made an average. times are sorted by the number of the pilot.

Has anyone noticed the extreme difference in rear wing settings so far? It seems that McLaren, Brawn, Renault, and Force India are using near max rear wing settings while the RB teams are using almost none. Ferrari seems in middle.

Of course, so far it's been running in drizzle so that may account for some of the variability but with lap times so close it's a bit of a surprise for me. I wonder if it will hold for qualifying?

Looks like Williams are praying for rain and have set the cars up accordingly based on the FP3 times. Doubt they have much to lose as if it is wet and the gamble pays off they could win...wonder if others will take this gamble too now after a soaked FP3.

Why does Grosjean still have a drive? He seems to be just as bad, if not a worse driver than Piquet.

It's pouring so hard here in SP that quali may happen tomorrow, since helicopters can't fly in this weather... Stay tuned!

Alonso was off the track nearly as much, the Renault appeared very hard to drive in the rain.

Yes, they are the groves they use for the touch zone on runways for grip in the rain.

I guess they are using that to aid drainage and also rough up the surface for mechanical grip.

I have a feeling those grooves carved into the track were to deal with the standing water on track that was expected.

Ooo apparently the Fisi Ferrari has some 2010 parts.

Watch him not refuel at all, stop one for tires, and win :)

lol - great pit radio there "better to be out on track, we don't want to be dicking around in the pit lane in these changing conditions"
