I am only interested if it is free. (Yes i am Cheep, but i am trying to buy a house)Would be nice to develop our own system that runs within F1 Technical. Its only a Database with a nice frontend after all.

It'd be great if we could have one here at F1T!

I'm very unimpressed with the way the other site is run. There's no chance of catching the people who got good parts/drivers very early on and making changes is virtually impossible. Too many calls of cheat too...

The problem with the league is that it has worked exactly like a strategy game. In the beginning you could either go for a "balanced" team, or put the crappiest choices possible everywhere and then get a top engine. Or what was believed to be top at the time: Mercedes, McLaren, RBR or Ferrari.

Choosing any "engine" other than Mercedes would have had you scoring like crazy, and getting more money. This money would allow you to update the crappy components of your team damn quickly. I suspect SBQ had something close to everything top by Canada or so. Maybe earlier. Now the only thing you can do is score as much as the top guys which already have the best or second best team. Therefore, you will at best keep the distance.

Because apparently only scoring drivers/cars count, and because the points were basically locked out by the top four teams, any choice other than top engine/full crap would have had you getting minimal points. As a consequence, you get less money and less chances to upgrade your team. Thus, the quality difference with the top guys' teams increases. Rinse and repeat.

For example, I think it was only the "pole time gives you money" feature that allowed me to buy the RBR engines. Once I got these, though, I think I got Vettel in like two races, and I'll probably be able to buy Alonso/Hamilton/Whoever after Suzuka.

Somehow, this reminds me of Civilization IV. One bad move with your initial settler and you're basically toast in the higher levels of difficulty. Even if there are 499 turns to go (in the expansions at least).
I am not amazed by F1 cars in Monaco. I want to see them driving in the A8 highway: Variable radius corners, negative banking, and extreme narrowings that Tilke has never dreamed off. Oh, yes, and "beautiful" weather tops it all.

:( The F1manager website seems to down, so I can't check my end of season totals. However, I guess I'm still 5th in our mini league, as I'd not moved from that spot since very, very early in the season..

It's online again.
I have finished in 9th place, and I'm quite happy about that ;)

@ben_watkins: I'm not very stunned by the way the site is run myself. In the beginning of the year I offered the owner to help him out with issues and such, but he declined. Fair enough, but the start of the season was terrible, and the rules also had you win or lose the compeititon in the first two races. If you have Ferrari engines, you were good for the remainder of the season.

Personally I liked more the way we had the competition here before, with team selection before the season, and not allowing changes during the season.

Maybe we should create a new thread for this...
