'West',

Would you please do us a favor and post a pic or two of both cars once you get the 335i? Maybe a side-by-side would be good.

You have previously talked about your Z, and I'm curious to see if it lives up to its hype :) .

There might be a change of plans... The original car I ordered ended up being a dealer demo in Oregon, so that dealership was not willing to send it down here :x :x :x I got a really good price too... 1400 over invoice, including shipping. I had already put 1K down and spent two hours there, not to mention driving about 20 miles to the dealership. There is one literally 10 minutes from my house. So I had to either find another one or cancel my order.

I was just down at the dealership today and they told me there was one in Washington state that looks exactly like my car - montego blue on black, which is very similar to Nissan's Daytona Blue. The best thing is, it had ALL the options I wanted (sports pkg, premium package, six-speed manual). They sounded very reluctant to send it, so I have to talk to them tomorrow. Montego blue is a bit lighter than Daytona.

Now they just called me 30 min. ago (7:30 Pacific) and told me they found a couple more that come close. They'll email me or call me tomorrow morning. I would have never shopped for a BMW until I found out on Sunday that BMW FS was offering 0.9 APR on 2008's. The deal also ends on Thursday. The dealership hopes that it will continue till August so that I buy from them (we bought from them before). I hope so too. I might still consider one if the price is not too bad, regardless of APR.

So if I don't get it... pretend my last couple of posts never happened

Sorry to hear that man, but I hope that everything works out and that you get the car you were hoping for.

And what about the 1K that you already put down? Are you getting it back if the dealership in Oregon isn't willing to negotiate?

Good luck...

PS. But why blue? :?

The 1K I put down is still there. I am probably going to end negotiations on Friday if a price can't be met, and I will take back the deposit.

As for Montego Blue... 335i coupes are hard to obtain... especially 2008's... ESPECIALLY if they are manual. From what was available, the other manual cars had none of the options I wanted. This blue coupe was the only one available that met my EXACT specifications, aside from exterior color. I think blue would be more appropriate for a GT car like the BMW; I may also like it because I originally wanted my 350Z in red. That said, as much as I wouldn't mind blue, it isn't the clor I want. Two dealerships have already told me that 335i coupes are very hard to get, and in some cases, they would have to trade an M3 to get one. Good luck on that happening.

There's also a Space Grey one, fully loaded, and an Alpine White one. Space Grey is my number one color. Then Alpine White, then Titanium Silver. They weren't specific about the details about the cars they just found. But I will know tomorrow morning.

I priced 45K for the original Titanium Silver on black I ordered; the blue should be nearly the same price; the dealer said the fully loaded one would be similar but I doubt that. So now it depends on the final price. The bonus is that I wouldn't pay shipping for the grey one (about 700-1000 dollars).

This is my current car. Tried to get this up a long time ago but whatever.

West, is it a Datsun 280ZX you have got there?

Yesterday my dad sold his 1998 306 "wagon" and bought a 2004 307 2.0 HDI.
Maybe tomorrow I´ll give it a ride to see how it handles.

BTW, I'd never trade that 350Z for the much more mainstream 3-series (and it's not even M3).

It's a 2006 Nissan 350Z... 280ZXs haven't been made since the 1980's, although some of them can look really good.

I decided to get a new car because I needed something quieter. I thought I was going to get all the lightest parts and track the car, but I got into a minor accident and damaged my exhaust. At the same time, my friend told me he got LASIK surgery, so I decided to save up for that (4500 US) and I stopped looking at parts at my car. Then I realized my parts made the car extremely twitchy, so I couldn't drive it as fast as I thought I would. I also ended up never attending a track session.

Finally, to me it is too uncomfortable for daily driving, especially since I will drive 40-50 miles a day to and from work. The roads near work and near my house are too bumpy for a coilover setup. Don't worry... the car is going to my parents, so if they take mine, I'll just drive it again. I also go to the gym right after work, and the 30-40 minute drive after being exhausted can get really bad. I remember getting a headache one day.

BTW... 0.9 APR doesn't apply to M3s here. I honestly wouldn't have even considered a 335i (or a BMW) at all had that not been there. If I had the money for an M3, I'm sure I would have the money for 997 Carrera S. The other consideration was an Infiniti G37 (Nissan Skyline if you must), but I figured it would remind me a lot of my 350Z. And I wish it was sold as a Skyline here.

That is a 1979 Toyota Celica. Five-speed manual, Caroll Shelby gold mesh rims, and a no-name exhaust (yuck). It's been broken into a couple of times, and hit a couple of times, and the interior is falling apart. It still runs, but I don't think it's actually been driven for about 10-15 years. My dad vowed to never give it away... until I told him I wanted to get a new car. So my dad's giving it away once he gets back from the Philippines, and my car will replace his.

A Celica!!! How did I confuse that car with this?

Image

In the mid 90s my cousin raced a 280ZX, I used to love that car: 1982 model, 2,8 liter 6 in-line, monopoint electronic inyection, a top speed that reached almost 230kph (including a BIG rear wing and huge slicks)
