It looks like everyone is in design mode as there has been very little posting recently. Just a reminder that the submission portal has been updated for the next round that is only 10 days away. I will need to send reminder emails...

Hello everyone. I just wanted to check on how occfd is going for you guys. Matteo is reporting some issues with occfd on Windows and I am wondering whether these may be associated with the Windows version of openFoam (or version 2.1.x). Does anyone has an opinion?

Tried to run a sim yesterday and it was sat on the second simulation for a good half an hour.
Closed it down in the end.

No experience with it, but I can try. What should I do to run OCCFD with it?
It seems that with OpenFoam 2.2 a quality geometry check feature was introduced in SnappyHexMesh, do you think it could be useful?

Would someone be willing to decompress the khamsin files and send them to my email, or something.

I'm on a loner computer, and can't unzip... I'm using OnShape which accepts STEP I'm not sure about SKP.

LuPi

pm for email.

I don't think that OCCFD will work with openFoam 2.3 due to some minor changes in dictionary keywords. It is nothing dramatic, but I just need to twik things here and there (same as between 2.1 and 2.2). There is also the question of how the above version installs and how would OCCFD identifies it and appropriately call it.

Do you have a link on the SHM quality geometry check?

@LuPi I decompressed all three files from KVRC rules and parts and put them on dropbox. The parts are available in both SKP and STEP format, so it should not be an issue. You can view and download from https://www.dropbox.com/sh/v29uwtrcz0hu ... IeHWa?dl=0 (hopefully). Let me know when you are done and I will delete the folder.

PS: When you click on the link it comes up with a dropbox registration invitation. You should be able to close the invitation (top right X sign) and view the files without registering... Can anyone confirm?

There is some information here: https://sites.google.com/site/snappywik ... exmeshdict
maybe that on ESIGroup/OpemFoam website you could find some more "official".

The submission deadline for round 2 is at the end of Thursday the 14th (GMT). Just a quick reminder to those of you who submitted an entry for round 1 and received warnings after the legality check (issues marked as 'minor') - these are carried over to round 2, so these need to be fixed if you haven't done so already.

Hi Chris, could I update my submission? I gained 50N with a small change :)

You can make as many submissions as you like - we'll use the most recent one which was submitted before the deadline.

Ive gained over 2000N for only 400N of drag from the first iteration of my car.
Didnt see the post about submissions but did mine 15mins later. Had been out all day whilst AWS was running a final simulation.
