The legality checks take roughly 1hr for a normal entry, more for the entries where there are a lot of problems. With 15 entries, it is a fairly big job, especially if there are a lot of resubmissions. I expect the entry numbers to drop a bit as we go further into the season, though.

When there's an entry that's clearly illegal in a way that would significantly increase performance (eg wing or rear diffuser well above the limits), then we reserve the right to disqualify the entry completely, but this hasn't happened yet.

1h per model is a big time.
I think the big issue is the resubmission, because it stops the preprocessing and it delays the simulations.
Without resubmission it would be possible the check only the car that would reach the points zone (or the podium plus a random couple of other cars).

The full 1% penalty would apply if the resubmitted car is still illegal.
Personally I'd be happy with no re-submission and an instant time penalty.... I'm already in total awe that you do all this work for the championship: so anything which reduces the amount of time it takes for you gets a thumbs up from me!

Think something might be wrong with these results....
Total drag: 712161394.16 N
Front wing(s) drag: 712161394.16 N
Rear wing(s) drag: 0.00 N
Drag coefficient - Cd: 1.27
Drag area - Cd.A: 594035.13 m2
Total Downforce: -3971303378.40 N
Front wing(s) downforce: -3971303378.40 N
Rear wing(s) downforce: 0.00 N
Downforce coefficient - Cl: -7.10
Downforce area - Cl.A: -3312583.00 m2
CoP of downforce: -794.306 m along streamwise (Y) direction from Y = 0.00 m.
KVRC Only: Corrected CoP of downforce: -396.328 m along streamwise (Y) direction from Y = 0.00 m.

Great job! RFactor2 its a true simulator, have you imported real physics? I did it with AssettoCorsa and the car (my 2015 one) was very difficult to drive.

Yeah i did imported the drag and lift values to URD Px Revolution mod . Took some time to calibrate the right values but i am happy how it turned out. Lapped around 6:03.xxx on Nordschleife tourist.

if we have not received a email regarding the legality of our car for the first race does that mean there was no issue??

There are a couple of emails that haven't been sent yet, sorry about that. Everything should be sent by the end of tomorrow.

what is the maximum height the topmost part of the diffuser can be at the most rearwood face of the allowed bodywork volume?

thanks

I usually go 10mm lower than the allowed volume to give a minimum thickness to the part

I like the resubmission option. I understand that is takes even more time and delays results publication too. But I also understand that it would be highly annoying for us to be penalized (and possibly loose the championship) for an innocent detail that got out of our checklist.
For instance, this round I totally forgot to put rear view mirrors on my car (on the renderings as well...).

@Ft5fTL, awesome video! It would be great if at the end of the challenge we could display all the cars in a simulator, like you and CAEdevice did!

Thanks

What is floor guide 3 for then? I was assuming it was the highest part of the diffuser. But clearly I was wrong
