It will be served in the pits.
What? It’s a time penalty.
That seems to be what C4 are saying. Then again they are usually clueless.
Usually when we’ve seen this later in a race, after a pit stop, the time is tacked on. But it’s mandatory that the pit stop option is chosen if the car does pit.

I guess just punt out people is the new thing. Why give a cars width? 5s or 10s is nothing? You can make up more in a race. So, I guess just punt out within the race !
It is the intellectual dishonesty of a few individuals claiming such things are racing incidents, I can only wonde why. Take a driver out? racing incident of course, side-by-side racing, unless ofcourse you are Kimi Raikonnen. We saw Ricciardo and Alonso do exactly the same as Vestappen and Hamilton at copse but Ricciardo didn't understeer after being given that car's width+ inside. Push a driver off the track and they lose 10+ positions? racing incident. Run into the driver on the straight? racing incident.
It's not a few individuals. Most commentators and everyone not in either Red Bull or Mercedes thought it was a racing incident. A few people that are Max fans think Lewis should be taken out and shot for daring to race.
Well both those sides are just as ridiculous as the other. It's a stone wall penalty, but not a race ban. Stop with this "most people say blah blah", most people also believe that one day they will go to heaven, doesn't mean they are right or wrong just because most people believe it.

Another tyre-limited Silverstone race. Anyone who wants it can have it, Merc can’t deploy all their speed.
Team ANTI-HYPE. Prove it, then I’ll anoint you.

No, that's how time penalties work, how do people not know this?
I’ve said earlier in the thread my thought was it has to be served in the pits. Feel free to check. It’s other people wondering which made me question it.

Yes, that's how they work during the race. Served during the pit stop.
I guess it defaults to that since he has an opportunity to pit.

Hamilton definitely not winning with how difficult it is to overtake here.
Yeah I'm guessing that if he ends up 4th when coming out of the pit he won't be able to make up positions. If it took Perez that much effort to get past Raikkonen then I can't see him being able to get past Bottas or Norris. All this talk about close racing maybe the high tyre pressures are causing this by not being able to lean on them as much

Same goes for the other group of people, who believe the opposite.

Neither group can ‘proof’ the other wrong.

Looks like Merc are going to use Bottas as a cork in the bottle, hold everyone up to create a window for Hamilton.

Someone just needs to tell Marco to shut up calling for Louis to be suspended....
Why ? Toto is doing exactly the same... I found it remarkable that Toto was allowed to talk to the stewards.
All of the teams can talk to the stewards when their drivers are involved in an incident.
Thx, wasn't aware of that. I as a steward would find it highly disturbing during the investigation. And it might end up being a crowd talking to you.

Just look at it the other way- you would blame Max for putting his car on the inside, where he had no place to be there..

I'd call it a racing incident either way.
