Robert Kubica has today informed Lotus Renault GP that he will not be ready for the start of the 2012 season, despite having started an intensive training programme. The Pole is still recovering from his really crash earlier this year and thereby gives the green light to LRGP to select its drivers for the 2012 campaign.

I've heard on another site that he also went go-karting this week. I'm not sure what to make of Alersuari's comments after all this.

I kind of expect to see him at the wheel of a F1 car, albeit a 2 year old one, in then next few months.
Alguersauri is trying to make a name for himself now as a 'Pundit' in the role of Anthony Davidson, however he is getting it wrong. He should have settled for a drive in LMP1 or a drive in WSBR this year and left the comments to his 5Live/BBC days.
Back to Kubica. If he has shakendown his rally car, id expect this to be part of his re-hab. However he must pick and choose his events and not end up in a crash/smach again. He needs to go carting as much as posible as well, this will sharpen him up enough and test his strength. Also, if he can, get a GP2 team to wheel out an old GP2/08 chassis at a track some where like Valencia, like what Addax have done today with Jorge Lorenzo. Get a couple days in the closest he can get to a F1 car before getting in a F1 car.
Its such a pitty that he is missing again this year, as a team of Kubica and Raikkonenn would have made certain top teams worried. Not to mention looking great for potential sponsor opertunities.
A little too optimistic maybe ESP, but if Massa disappoints again we might very well see Robert racing later this season.

After seeing the latest news, you can really see who is Alguersuari. No need to talk about him anymore.
I think we will see Kubica at the wheel of a red 2 year old F1 car this summer, and maybe in F1 next year. I might be a little bit too optimistic though.
"...and there, very much in flames, is Jacques Laffite's Ligier. That's obviously a turbo blaze, and of course, Laffite will be able to see that conflagration in his mirrors... he is coolly parking the car somewhere safe."Murray Walker, San Marino 1985
It's known by now, that Robert has added some regularity to his karting training and is fast.
There's one rumor too, saying that Kubica is doing a lot of online sim racing, using nickname "Francesco Troto". Winning many races and described by other players as "Very very FAST"

Robert Kubica in the holiday weekend came to a rally car and took tests in the Italian town of Ginestro. In Kraków after the recent rides a Skoda Fabia WRC, this time he sat in the Renault Clio S1600, which drove most of his previous races. Kubica drove a car, Clio, alternating with another driver - Andrea Crugnolim. Rajdówki (on site were also Fabia WRC and the Peugeot 207 S2000) served Erreffe team. Initially it was planned that the tests will be held at Andorra, but at the last minute decided to change the location. Photography is Kevin Hegyes, and published on the website testrally.com.
