McLaren MP4-31 Honda

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

FW Comparison snatched from the Autosport Forum. I hope that's enough Detail in a Front Wing for the People saying the Macca FW looked too basic.

Old wing is tried and tested, new wing aero set-ups are still to be fine tuned. Real world data tends to differ a lot of the time.

It's good to see McLaren going a new route with the FW instead of making something that just looked like a RB copy from 2 seasons before. Looks weird though, let's hope it works.

Sometimes I feel McLaren doesn't follow design trends just for the sake of being different.

I have no doubts that this new development is better, but it doesn't follow the trends literally every other team follows. It's weird how McLaren continues to develop a solution that hasn't been the trend since 2013.
