Renault R30

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Yes, according to this link Kubica has stated that major improvements are coming for the Canadian Grand Prix. What are the other team did the Spanish Grand Prix, Renault saves for Montreal. Announce that it is not ruled out the possibility the fight for first place.

@Raceman: It's pure speculation, but I think it will be rather generic. Renault wasn't focusing too much on F-duct. I remember interview with Boulier, where he said, they would rather stick to their own development program.

@nacho: I would love to see it, but I think (still only speculation) that most of the teams will introduce it next season.

@mith

I know it's speculation, but we post based on the speculation until FP1 where we certainly know if the said update is put in place or not; aren't we? :wink:

From Kubica on Tuesday,
I think we should be better in Canada than in Turkey. Unfortunately, we do not have big news for this race. I hope we have for the Grand Prix of Europe, at Valencia.
So no F-Duct or major updates for Canada. Sounds like its all coming for Valencia.

While no F duct, note that the Renault has been very quick in the speed traps and I would expect Canada to be a great race for them, possibly challenging Red Bull, though McLaren will be doing the eating in Canada. Ferrari? It's all bad there ..

So a possible podium there for Renault

Yes.
They are bringing updates in every race anyway :mrgreen:

A part of the new front wing, they brought new brakes in Istanbul that are more suitable for Montreal.

Guys, I listened to the RF1 Podcast this morning, updates for Canadian GP are wings(low downforce circuit hence smaller wings) and other aerodynamical components. The major upgrades will be introduced at the Spanish GP and the British GP. "For sure" we have good top speed, but F-duct could come in handy, especially in Montreal. Valencia is similar(?) to Monaco, so hopefully RK can fight for pole! :shock:

Well we know Bobby K loves street circuits... He loves the adrenaline rush of being so close to the walls. A bit like Massa (back in his heyday) in a sense. But I think really he'll be better in Singapore as I believe it's tighter rather than Valencia. We do know though that this Renault is immense mechanically. Could it perhaps even be the best car mechanically? :?

I'm not so sure that dragging a brand new F-duct wing to Canada is a good thing. Even Red Bull have bagged theirs after a day of testing with it. Getting it right from the beginning would require some luck it would seem.

Hmm... RF1 Podcast revealed that the F-duct was supposed to have been introduced in Istanbul, but they'd rather have it work 100% before introducing it. They are taking "another" approach hence different design to incorporate with the back wing.
