Ferrari 150° Italia

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

they said that they will bring a new rear wing and a new front wing...i can imagine the front wing will be designed to work with the extreme rake...but i have a question...why the hell don't they bring a modified diffuser... the diffuser accounts for almost halve of an F1 car's downforce... why don't they open that little triangle the RB have and the McL copied... the rake is designed to work with their diffuser and exhaust solution..

I think we will see a flexible front wing this time around. They have shown us that they have set up the car with rake now comparable to RBR and Mclaren.

And maybe a flexing rearwing like RBR..
The truth will come out...

Ferrari will not introduce their flexible front wing at this weekend's Turkish Grand Prix, despite trying the design in a straight-line test last week. (Autosport magazine)

While I agree they leave the old wings out front on Thursday. They still would have had to take them to the scrutineers. If Autosport saw they took old wings to get checked then they have their story.

i think they want to compare the old with the new front wing and they show only the old one, so the oppositions don't see the new front wing before first training. i think tey want to do the same with the rear wing.

Talk of an 'un-flexi' front wing update on BBC coverage of first practice - pictures anyone?

Not a very smooth finish on that part. Not up to the usual F1 quality.

Probably because it's coated in some kind of heat resistant paint, and matted out so it radiates a maximum of heat.

I think he means the gloss red area above which has crazy specular reflections in all directions all over it, indicating a pretty lumpy bumpy finish.

I don't think that's the finish, I think that's a reflection of something. It was raining, so water on a window or a skylight perhaps?
