So you can do it and i can't?

Firstly I didn't bring up anything about Hamilton.

Can't blame Jamsbong for trying to make heidfeld look good by comparing him to a bench mark.
Hate it or love it people are going to do that naturally. Even you yourself are guilty of using Hamilton to some how legitimize another driver.

That's how sport is. If Hamilton grinds your gears, i can't help you. If you must ignore the thread for health reasons, then you have to do what you have to do.

No different than comparing Heidfeld to Senna to generate some discussion.

I don't see the issue why my name is being called with Hamilton's to somehow make it look like i am breaking any rules. It's just a normal discussion going here that would otherwise end in a few days from now and left to be forgotten.

Chill guys!
I see all F1 drivers (legend or backmarkers) are F1 drivers. Even I'm a big fan of Vettel and Schumacher, I don't see them so special that they can belong to a different category.

regarding Senna replacing Heidfeld. The news is pointing out that it will be for 2 races only because of contract/legal issues. Tough to be Senna now as he will have no idea how the Pirellis will be like. I guess it is do or die situation, lets hope he can handle the pressure.

I don´t think Heidfeld would have taken Renault to court if they were prepared to compensate for him stepping back.
It´s such a bad and ugly style of Renault managers to slash him publicly instead of settling an agreement and thanking him for the input and maybe let him drive on fridays to help with the car setup.
But as he is paid a reported 250000€ per race .. multiplied by 8 races to go that ´d be 2Mill€ ..add to this the loss in points for not having him and it´s claqer that you cannot afford to bring senna in who is not really bringing direct sponsorship BUT the move boosting lopez dealings in Brasil...So the benefit for Renault maybe even less as Senna will never ever score as many points as Heidfeld would have done ,if only for his lack of seattime so far. So Boullier has no choice but try to not lose more money and just brings senna in the hope nice Heidfeld does not sue them...ouch ....

Senna was the reserve driver. What happens now if Petrov or Senna can't drive and Renault needs a reserve? Perhaps Boullier will run past Heidfeld and go down to the McLaren pit to find out if Pedro DeLarosa is available.

Renault had 5 reserve drivers... Now they have 4.

Bouillier is claiming Heidfeld was not willing to negotiate a settlement...and expects Petrov and Senna on the same speed already come Singapore.
I can´t see that happening.

Q. Are you happy that Nick is running around in team gear in Belgium?

EB: As long as he keeps promoting the team, I am fine.

I've always wondered why such a consistent and relatively quick and experienced driver was never held for very long. I know now his ability to motivate and lead is lacking. The comment from boullier about a negative cycle was very telling.

Perhaps a shave and a haircut would be a start, his visual appearance, 90s grunge, must be a PR-man's nightmare?

I dunno, I like the beard, its rather epic, especially if you consider hes the only F1 driver able to grow a proper beard instead of the pathetic stubble that pretty much all the others refuse to shave.

To be honest, the 'negative cycle' reasoning makes it sound like Boullier has made Heidfeld the scapegoat for the revolving door that Renault has become in 2011.

As for consistent & relatively quick..? Relative to who? His 2nd year teammate? He wasn't hired to be relatively quick, he was hired to bring in results. Instead he's merely matched Petrov. Not good enough.

In the end, he's too much Nick, not enough Quick. :P

Someone of similar speed and consistency is well beyond his 300th gp and has remained employable. I think all the factors mentioned mean nothing if nobody likes you within the team

While remaining reasonably competitive and sometimes besting his team mates while setting consistency records, doesn't it seem odd he always gets dropped?
