Lewis Hamilton has won the Bahrain Grand Prix, leading nearly every lap but 5 due to a different strategy for Raikkonen. The Finn finished second for Ferrari, passing Rosberg 3 laps from the end. The latter finished in third place.
Interesting that Hamilton is referencing Malaysia a lot:
Hamilton said: "You have to assume that Ferrari will be very strong again, but I think we're going to try and take, from our experience with Malaysia, a slightly different approach.
"I feel quite confident that as a team we can rectify that issue that we had in Malaysia.
He's not saying 'we got on top of the tyres in China, Bahrain will be cooler etc.' so my inference is they expect some of the conditions (perhaps rear limited nature of circuit) to be more similar to Malaysia.
interesting ... what if ferrari won in malaysia not because of temperatures but because their car is better on rear limited tracks? if thats the case the season would be a lot more interesting
I wonder if Hamilton and Kimi will get in trouble for the "pit-lane-incident"... looked fairly dangerous? Gonna be investigated after the session.
For those that didn't watch P2; After the red-flag, cars were lining up at the pit exit, presumably waiting for the green light or doing a launch start (no idea why they weren't getting on to the track) and both Kimi and Lewis passed those cars on the right side...
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II #Team44 supporter
Hopefully none of the top 4 runners get any penalties other than maybe some fines, so we can have a great battle on Sunday. Race pace particularly looks very interesting.
I hope for repremands - did they actually break a rule?
