Prediction time. We are yet to witness the ERS capabilities of a rejuvenated Honda and Bahrain demands a lot of power. It would be interesting to see how well the energy recovery works on that Honda. Ferrari should be back to their normal performance. If anything, the cooling down circuit in the night and the harder rubber (compared to Melbourne) should be of good help too. Racing point's upgrades didn't work as they had hoped for. Hopefully, they have figured out the reasons and fixed it.

My opinion is about the same. Ferrari will be closer, but i don't think they will be ahead, unless Merc makes a mistake.

The amount that Ferrari was off the pace in AUS, shows that something nontrivial is wrong. If I had to guess, it looked their aero and suspension philosophy didn't let them work the tires correctly in higher temperatures.

Bahrain will be a smoother track, but also more abrasive. not to mention the temps will be about equal.

The temperature in Melbourne was'n't that high. In Bahrain it will be higher.

Yes, something was/is wrong with Ferrari SF90. This Friday should be an indicator if solution is demonstrated within 30 minutes of FP1 followed up with longer run stability stage of FP2.....otherwise, another long and boring season with Hamilton/Mercedes dominance

Yes, something was/is wrong with Ferrari SF90. This Friday should be an indicator if solution is demonstrated within 30 minutes of FP1 followed up with longer run stability stage of FP2.....otherwise, another long and boring season with Hamilton/Mercedes dominance

no FP1 isn't really a indicator, in FP 1 the track will be green, and the teams will be looking for the set up they can use and because it isn't done at the same time as the race, I don't see FP1 as a real indicator, FP 2 is mostly checking long run pace and setup for it... so here we might see a bit of an indication, but this will be only for the race itself, and there we know that the first 3 teams are mostly at the same pace

What are the expectations for renault on this track? Despite hulk's 7th place, on race pace they were actually behind alfa, RP and TR. I'm not sure about mclaren's race pace in melbourne tbh, but they got beaten by them in qualifying by a rookie. If they can again take some opportunistic points that'be as good as is gets for them imo. Problem is, you can actually overtake here so if they don't have the pace they'll have a bit of a problem on their hands.
