Actually the F14T looks nicer when its nose is broken ! Btw this is probably true for most of the 2014 F-1 cars...

One interesting detail in this picture is tha different angle of attack of the inner and outer part of the winglet above the leading edge of the sidepod. There is an abrupt change in angle, as if the local flow was very different between the two sections.

This is the typical twist theat we see on front suspension arms or in the low louvers of rwep: since there is a vortex passing across the element, the twist of the arifoil compensates for the local velocity direction difference induced by the vortex.

Is this the case on top of the sidepod also? Maybe the local difference in aoa is caused by the sidepod itself underneat, with the flow running along the rounded lateral surface of the sidepod leading edge

Hi guys, I'll be making a model of the F14T, so I need to ask you a couple of questions.
First, is the shape of the underside of the cockpit over the splitter a V or a U?
How far back and forth does the wooden plank of the floor extend?
thanks!

The thing with carbon is you can't tell from just a picture. With the visible damage coming so close to the front bulkhead I'm sure Ferrari will be inspecting the chassis very closely to make sure of its integrity. I reckon there is a high chance of cracks/delaminations behind the front bulkhead.

Yes it´s fully open even mid corner, I´m surprised there isnt more discussion about this. Was it Kimi who pressed it by mistake, or was there a failure that led to the crash?

Also the DRS seemed open on the flowvis pictures posted in this topic. Maybe they were investigating the airflow with DRS open, does that make sense? DRS being closed on the pictures after the crash can be explained by the system automatically closing when it doesn't receive an "open" signal.

Speculation speculation.

Anyone noticed the loud 'pop' here? Is this the misfiring some have been talking about?
