Parts of the Mclaren are visible in the shots of the Alpine. The front wing looks unchanged, from what I can see.
Depends which car is on display. We have seen it with McLaren before, they dont show their upgrades on the pitwall as they split specs between cars.

Need to keep an eye out during practice.

There were wings outside both the Mclaren garages, but it could be that any potential new wings are under wraps for the time being.

For sure, I agree. I'm disappointed with some of the dropped points but the position we are in is amazing. Still, I have to admit, that is a little bit of mid tier team done good mentality, we probably shouldn't be OK with the dropped points.

Next year, well, from Zandvoort on (!), for instance, we need to nail the pit stop markers and not overshoot, get the starts right, not go off track when leading, make better decisions with racecraft and in the strategy corner, because despite the fact we are all happy with the ascent; It's been not near good enough. We can't take for granted that we will be this competitive in the future. We've got to take our chances.
Completely agreed.

Looking forward to the weekend. It will be interesting to see the extent of the upgrades.

Quite a few upgrades. Mercedes and Ferrari no upgrades, Red Bull couple of small ones (halo, mirrors).

If it brings a tenth and makes the overall race pace between stints not so different, that's it, they're clear fastest then.

After what happened to Ferrari and Redbull I'm not optimistic on big upgrades

This is a bad weekend to introduce upgrades. It will likely rain tomorrow too.

Now that Mclaren is one of the fastest cars and in contention of the WCC even God is doing his best to put obstacles.

This time though we might be lucky since we can bolt full downforce since its a high downforce truck so either rain or dry wont make a difference.

Not sure why you are looking at Ferrari and Red Bull. Maybe look at what happened in Miami when McLaren brought another big upgrade?

Have some faith in the team.

On F1TV Buxton was talking what Rob Marshall told him, he said that Marshall is the most impressed with how good their correlation is. Also Marshall said if the new high downforce rear wing works as they intend, it will make the previous iteration completely obsolete, that it should be much better.

I guess that the investment into the wind tunnel and other tools is paying off with that great correlation.

A relatively useless session with track conditions changing all the time. Hopefully it’s dry throughout in FP2

Indeed. Body language of the car looked very good though.

Every other upgrade has delivered more than predicted in the Papaya camp, so I'm not too worried.

True but the car looked on pace. Easily trading blows with whoever was at the top.

For a car with flow viz and new package, this is a good sign.

Andrea Stella: We've been able to deliver another substantial upgrade, but not as large as Miami. It should improve the aerodynamic efficiency. We are definitely interested to see how the car responds with these novelties, and there will be more coming in other races.

So, lots of little "novelties" designed to improve specific areas of the car that will just probably keep coming, on and off, for the rest of the season.

If we could get a couple of tenths this weekend alone, then that is a great return for these updates.
