Red Bull RB8 Renault

Not sure if it's just the lighting, but is this what is happening here?

Yes, it seems so.
"...and there, very much in flames, is Jacques Laffite's Ligier. That's obviously a turbo blaze, and of course, Laffite will be able to see that conflagration in his mirrors... he is coolly parking the car somewhere safe." Murray Walker, San Marino 1985

I think the idea is to actually get air to the edges to help better seal the diffuser? Based on the flick at the end of the sidepod "tail", it would seem air would be diverted to the sides rather than directly back.

edit: I can't tell if that's a hole that leads through the sidepod. If it is, then I agree with the original illustration.

Thats what I highlighted in my last post previous page. Your arrow is probably better than my description though!

The rear pull rod is awfully thin.

This system is legal.
The air blows in diffuser is just the air that we breathe.
The FIA can't prohibit this.

Actually, they can, and did, a couple of years ago.

For those saying this copies sauber's concept – I disagree. I think this looks much closer to McLaren's concept. What this looks like to me is that air going round the side pods gets pushed under the "bridge", air going over the side pods has a nice smooth path back to the beam wing, and the exhaust gets routed off the side of the side pod, over the top of the air coming round the side, and down to the diffuser edge, which is pretty much McLaren's concept.

Yeah, why would those be protested? Apertures are allowed for suspension members, and those apertures are allowed to overlap.

Now the pullrod seems to be in quite undesirable position. Wouldn't this concept work better with pushrod ?

The Scottsman speaks the truth, that concept won't make it past the FIA checks before FP1, otherwise Sauber can have last years wing they used at Melbourne and Macca/Ferrari can have holes in their floors ;)
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.
