I do think Lando is in the top tier with Max, Alo, Ham, Lec.
Ive never understood the hype for Oscar? Norris beats him in most qualy sessions, and Norris has much better race pace.

Also on the same age Tyre, Norris was able to overtake Max in a RBR that is fast in the straights, but Oscar couldnt overtake a much slower Russell? and couldnt overtake Lecerc with Much fresher tyres? imo he is over rated and loved by the media.
Mclaren must make Norris the Number 1 driver now for the rest of the season if they want any chance to catch Max.

I do think NOR should be #1 driver for the rest of the season but let's not beat up on Oscar here...lad was P2 at the previous race and the joint top scorer over 5 races going into the summer break

Lando will be kicking himself even further for leaving at least 4 race wins on the table after witnessing the gap between him and Max today. It will require perfection from him and his teammate to win the WDC now, which is unlikely

Lando left a maximum of one victory, the rest was lost by the strategists

Why unlikely? Difficult, of course, but based on today's domination at least, hardly unlikely

Barcelona, Austria, Hungary and Silvertsone. The latter can't be solely blamed on strategy. Max and Lewis made the right calls to pit and Lando didn't.

Mercedes and Ferrari can't trouble RB. Piastri is food for Max.

Came here to say this. Pretty big news if they bring a low downforce upgrade as well (another one)

Can McLaren be the fastest car in Monza?
I think they can be. Hopefully they are and we put Verstappen under pressure.

Verstappen already had to take an engine penalty. If he has any more issues or DNFs, he could lose a chunk of his points but for any chance of WDC Lando needs to be perfect.

This is based on what exactly? Mercedes already won several races recently so clearly troubled Max. Same with Oscar.
Ferrari is further behind right now, but not that much.

The WDC is unlikely, it surely has to be.

Problem being is that we are at the mercy of both merc and ferrari along with oscar too.
What we need is to reel off a series of wins with numerous cars in between lando and max. This will also see max become more edgy and yield a higher chance of accidents and dnf's as frustration and desperation creeps in.

For now I would just concentrate on monza. Even IF we are faster there I can't imagine there will be much separating mclaren, merc and verstappen.

They finished 40 seconds behind Lando after introducing new upgrades. Monza and Baku is RBR territory too. So P2 minimum for Max.

WDC definitely is unlikely and if Lando manages to win it, it will be one of biggest comeback stories in F1 history.

I don't think it will happen but the team has to do all it can to put Verstappen under as much pressure as possible. People make mistakes when put under pressure. There are 9 races left, Verstappen can have a DNF, bad qualifying or an engine penalty.

Btw about the race start, it looks like this was a team issue this time around. Both cars had exactly the same bad launch.

It is possible the team did some changes to the launch trying to improve it and this had both cars execute bad launches.
