Welcome back X2 =D> , missing your interesting insight and pictures in advance. Now as next race is Monza which put pressure and stress to the gearbox as well as to engine. So in this regards a new gear box will definitely help. But what a bad luck for Alonso today............ Whatever Roman gets a race ban and Maldonado also get double grid penalty [10 place]. As this race show that RB8 is not well ahead of F2012, and Mecca may be fast but they are not the closest rival of Alonso, so now Ferrari have to work to maximize their potential for Monza and stay focused to the development of F2012 further with expected updates at Singapore Gp which could help to win WDC for Alonso...........
Formula One is a game.............. but not any ordinary game for me

No one about "mandatory lower noses are useless"?
Because as several said before the season, they are neither pretty nor usefull.

Fernando was lucky on this one...

Huh? If we'd had mandatory lower noses, greasjean's car wouldn't have climbed over fred's wheels, it would have submarined, and killed greasjean instead... oh... wait... fair point.

Alonso's view of Grosjean (roughly):

I seem to remember Rosberg getting even closer than that (a Red Bull was over the top).

In fact I was thinking about the actual "low" nose which were introduced to avoid driver being hit & cars become airborne.
But you're right too.

No, the current "low" noses were introduced to stop a car that T-boned another from having it's nose go straight into the other car's cockpit. The lower still noses will be introduced in 2014 and are designed to stop the cars becoming airborne like webber did at valencia.

I thought it was for both reason this season, plus another step (please, no more step nose [-o< ) in 2014.
Still, as long as Formula 1 will be open wheeled, they'll become airborne as soon as their wheels touch. Low nose or not.

Any solution expect covering wheels and driver brings another non-better issue.
But I do like watching open-wheel open-cockpit series...

i don't know if it's the right place to post that, but Alonso said he is 100% fit to drive around Monza and his Spa engine is fine.

What would be the purpose of the camera pointing at the driver in the simulator? (I suppose it is a picture taken in the sim)

I'm guessing strangely placed footage is useless until it gives that one perspective the teams and stewards need.

Which begs the question: where's the footage from those mirror cams!?!?!

I just hope they're a lot closer to McLaren than they were at Hungary and Spa. Being 7.5 tenths off pole is not encouraging, and the gap needs to be overturned if ALO is to have any hope of fighting for the title at the end of the season. The Macca's arent as quick in the race, but the problem is that rarely does ALO have a car that can get him to the first 2 rows. From Spain to germany, ferrari had more or less one of the 3 quickest cars, but that is no longer the case. Thank God HAM scored no points in Spa,i would still consider him to be the biggest threat to ALO's points lead, and not the Red Bull drivers or Raikkonen. I shudder to think of the scenario if HAM had been given Macca's new rear wing in Spa.
And have ferrari managed to rectify their problems with the front wing??

If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

Just to share my thoughts, I do not know whether this have came up before, it just came up.

But I think Alonso and Massa have symbiosis mutualism .
What I meant was :
- Alonso have quite a lead and need Massa to perform well in order to take point from the other contenders. I assume Alonso does not mind giving his "support" to Massa as it does not hurt him. (by support could means car set up direction, driving tips?, etc)
- Massa get Alonso's support so that he could get back performing and prove himself that he still deserve the seat.
Ay Carumba!

Is it possible to repair the Alonso's roll bar for the race ? Or not (parc fermé) ?
