Valencia, one of the most beautiful venues for a GP

By on

In less than three weeks time, the European Grand Prix will be hosted, for the very first time, in Valencia. The race will be held at the all-new Valencia street circuit in and around the harbour of the popular Spanish city.

Valencia is the third city of Spain and attracts more and more tourists every year. To accomplish this, the city has invested a lot. The biggest tourist attraction is La Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias. A modern city build by top architect, and Valencian, Santiago Calatrava.

In the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias every building has its own purpose. There is an opera building, an IMAX-theatre, a science museum and the most popular of all: the Océanografic, a huge aquarium that daily entertains its public with a spectacular dolphin show.

Not only the new part of the city is worth visiting, but the old city centre as well. The bullring, the Estacion del Norte, the Mercado Central, La lonja de la seda, the Turia park,.... These are only a few of the places of interest in the city that never sleeps.

Only a couple of years after hosting the 32nd America's cup, Valencia is up for a totally new challenge. The city will be the venue of the European Grand Prix in August and for this special occasion, Valencia has built an all new street circuit in and around the harbour.

After the success of the GTA and F3 trials last 27th July, the city of Valencia and its marina harbour are now ready to welcome the F1 teams although there is still quite some work to do up and around the circuit. However the European Grand Prix at the new street circuit promises to be a very beautiful, exciting race and of course a meeting place for the 'beau monde'.

Just like in Monaco, the Valencia circuit offers the possibility to be watched live from VIP terraces or from one of the many yachts that will be laying in the harbour.
