Pole position slot moved to the right side of the Valencia track

Charlie Whiting, FIA's Formula One safety delegate, has declared that the pole position slot for the European Grand Prix at Valencia will switch to the right side of the track instead of the left one and this after observations during the Friday free practice sessions.

A statement said: "Having observed the line taken by cars across the grid, and in accordance with Article 36.2 (a) off the F1 Sporting Regulations, the first grid position will be removed and pole position will now be on the right hand side of the grid."

Article 36.2 (a) of the regulations state that on new circuits the pole position side is decided by the FIA safety delegate, in this case Charlie Whiting.
