Suzuka preview
The Suzuka Circuit is the host of the Formula One Japanese Grand Prix and one of the oldest and most-famous racing circuits in Japan. Suzuka is located in Suzuka City in Mie Prefecture. It’s a very tough and technical circuit, with enormous crowds.
Suzuka is designed as a Honda test track in 1962 by John Hugenholtz, it’s a unique circuit, being one of the very few in the world to have a figure 8 lay-out. The circuit is 5.807 km. In the shape of a figure eight, Suzuka has a variety of fast and slow corners. It is loved by all the drivers, although overtaking was made virtually impossible when the chicane before the pits was tightened in 1991, spoiling the best passing opportunity that had been at the end of the main straight. Due to its unique layout, Suzuka is a massive test of driver skill and is easily one of the most difficult racing circuits in the world.
