Despite the bad performances of the reigning World Champion, Ferrari decided to extend the contract of Kimi Raikkonen until the end of 2010. Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo doesn't listen to the criticism and defends Kimi Raikkonen despite his poor form.
di Montezemolo declared to the Italian newspaper 'Gazzetta dello Sport': "I know some disagreed when we lengthened his contract, but we are talking about the world champion, who won the title in his first year at Ferrari. Kimi is like those great forwards in football who can't score for a while but, since they're good, sooner or later they find their way to the goal again, which is good for them and their teams."
