The fans will bring unique atmosphere at Japan - Kubica

Last year Robert Kubica finished seventh in Fuji, and was the only BMW Sauber F1 Team driver to complete the race. The Pole speaks about last year's rain-dominated battle, as well as the allure of the track at the "Fuji Speedway" and the atmosphere at the Japanese Grand Prix.

"This season we travel to Fuji for the second year in a row. I guess everyone remembers last year's Japanese Grand Prix, as the weather conditions were crazy," says Kubica. "It was extremely wet, and visibility was poor."

Despite the conditions, the 4.563 kilometre circuit still made a positive impression on Robert: demanding, diversified turns and several blind spots make the Japanese track a real challenge. "Under dry conditions it was very enjoyable to drive, although the last sector is quite slow as there are a lot of tight corners," says the 23-year-old.

Another particular feature of the Japanese Grand Prix are the fanatical Formula One fans who flock to the circuit on race weekend. Robert is already looking forward to the enthusiastic fans in Fuji, and says: "As always in Japan, I think the fans will bring a unique atmosphere to the circuit. They usually arrive at the track early in the morning, and leave after us."
