Nightly F1 races coming up?
As Formula One want to attract more public by spicing up the show a little bit, a suggestion was made that some of the races could possibly be run at night. The circuits that make most chances of hosting such an event, if it ever comes that far, are France and Britain, both hosting a summer event. The team bosses are all being generally receptive to the idea and as McLaren boss Ron Dennis explained, the television figures go through the roof when aired during the evening hours."We are a racing team and we will race at whatever time of the day - be it in the morning or evening," he said on the issue. "If you look at the figures for Brazil say, the television figures shoot up from four to 12 million in Germany because of the time of day it is."
