Force India to have last test with Ferrari engines in Barcelona
The upcoming Formula One test in Barcelona will be the last event in which a Force India car is powered by a Ferrari engine. The Indian team will use Mercedes engines as from the 2009 season on, so the team will not be wasting time with the 056 unit from next week onward.
A spokesperson from Force India confirmed this to 'Manipe F1', "We will be in Barcelona next week for our last test with Ferrari engines. We will not test again until we have our 2009 Mercedes-powered car.” Which most likely means that the team will not test again for the remainder of the year.
This will end a two season run of Force India F1 (formerly Spyker F1) cars being powered by the Italian constructor.
