Angolan Teixeira to test for Williams

Angolan sports newspaper Jornal dos Desportos has received indications that Angolan Raphael Teixeira has been invited by Williams F1 to test for the team. While this is just an invitation for a pre-season test, the Angolan press is already hoping to see the first Angolan race driver in Formula One.

26-year-old Teixeira began his racing career in Portuguese karting in 2000 and joined Formula 3 in 2002.

His manager and father, Jorge Teixeira, told the newspaper that he was "taken by surprise" by the invitation from Williams but said he believed that Angola was getting closer to have its first Formula 1 driver.
