Overview of 2009 car launches

Tomorrow the long awaited moment has arrived: the first car of the 2009 season will be unveiled. Ferrari will be the first team to present its car to the public at their track in Mugello. Two other teams will follow the Scuderia this week: Toyota and McLaren.

The new trend this year is a low-key launch or roll-out and this due to the financial crisis that has hit the entire world, but especially the car industry. The teams decided to organise low-key events and this in the wake of the radical cost-cutting measures that have been taken to keep the sport alive.

Overview of launches and roll-outs: * 12 January: Ferrari
* 15 January: Toyota
* 16 January: McLaren
* 19 January: Renault F1 and Williams
* 20 January: BMW Sauber F1
* 9 February: Red Bull Racing

The Scuderia Toro Rosso and Force India F1 still have to confirm their launch date.
